Gone But Not Forgotten (Poem For Fallen Heroes)

Many heroes fall during battle
this fight for freedom often costs
these men and women we send to foreign shores
often it these lives that are lost

but they will not be forgotten
we honor those souls that slip away
and know that they've become angels
In heaven, on this day

The memory of them lives on
as we sleep we see their face
the dreams seem so very real
we often imagine their warm embrace

God has given them free reign
to whisper gently to the trees
to glide effortlessly among the clouds
and dry your tears with a breeze

So as long as we are alive
we will hold them in our hearts
and as long as we can breathe
our heroes will never be apart

So as we bury you with honor
we will grieve, then heal & pray
and even though we'll miss you you
we'll be reunited in heaven one day

My Cats

My cats are too funny!

I always catch them sleeping  and they sleep together all the time. They have since they were babies . They crack me up!!

Bubba has to sleep in Jim's arms! He is such a big baby!

Bubba is sound asleep! He loves his belly rubbed!

Rosie and Bubba out like a light!!Rosie is always sleeping in funny positions!!

Here I found them again! I have never seen cats sleep on their back!

Yes,that is Bubba and Ebbie ,I found them asleep like this but when I started to snap pictures they woke up!

All 3! I got a box in so I covered it with a blanket so they could lay on it! They love sleeping together My babies are the sweetest!

The boys! Bubba and Boo Bear! All the cats were so protective of Boo Bear. He didn't have enough oxygen when he was born .He had a tough time walking too .  We lost Boo Bear in Aug 09. He was the sweetest cat. Rosie, Bubba and Ebbie always let him eat first and I would catch Rosie  helping him to clean . Rosie is the alpha cat and boy do the other cats listen to her! If she comes in the house first, she doesn't relax until the others are in!

They also love boxes. I let them have the boxes when I get something in .

So I gave him another box and Ebbie jumped into the smaller box!

They love their boxes!

All 3 relaxing ! Bubba fell asleep and here Ebbie is cleaning Rosie. They really take care of each other and

I never see them fighting . They have been together since they were born,so loving and stay with us all day too!

They all love to play outside!

Boo Bear ,he was so sweet. He is now an angel,but he was always my angel!

What brings you joy in your life?

I came across this blog, Barking Mad and Audrey is having a blog giveaway for a $300.00 Target Gift Card.She asked the question "What brings you joy in your life"? and I had to answer because I asked myself , Do I have joy? and Do we find joy by other people or is it just in our hearts?

This year has been sad and life isn't what I ever expected.

I always found joy with my family , get togethers, cooking or just watching a T.V show with them.

I have been blessed with having 4 children , 3 boys and a girl and I know I live for them because they bring me my greatest joy. Their birth ,birthdays ,graduations and getting married. You never expect to lose a child . I never thought I would lose 2 sons, two beautiful sons,who should be married ,having their own families,instead I hold pictures of them.

It brings me joy to have known them, loved them ,that I was their Mother

Finding joy in my heart to carry on and make this Holiday special for my other children.

Joy is the little things . A hug,a smile ,making them all stand there because I am taking a picture.I find joy in a phone call,even if its for a minute to say Hi,I am thinking of you and love you.

Giving others kindness,making them feel good ,loved and happy.That brings me joy. Helping someone that needs a helping hand ,being able to help. That brings me joy.

Placing my faith in God ,knowing he would only give my shoulders and heart what I can carry.

Joy comes from within , no one can give it to me,I have to find it for myself.

I find joy in the little things.

I hope you find joy in your life.

Fairytale Brownies bring some Happiness

I was so sad this week

My son's birthday was on Wednesday,the 16th, he would have been 23. It was the first birthday I had without David.

Do you ever have one of those weeks ,your sad,in a slump and just can't shake it ?

I always tell myself,

Everyday offers gifts,untie the ribbons.

Then it happened ,a truck pulled up outside

A white box with the words,Fairytale Brownies written on the outside.

It was a wonderful surprise!

I opened the box and saw the most beautiful package, a gift for David and me.

I sat back and enjoyed the best brownie I have ever eaten, Fairytale Brownies

The Angels are safekeeping my Mom

My heart is broken.

My Mom passed last night.

I know she is with the angels and we all loved her. A strong ,wonderful and beautiful woman.

The angels are safekeeping you and I miss you.

We were all at her side,my brothers and sister,her sister,and her other daughters.

Ma Green is now with my Dad,my brother and her 2 grandsons.

My Mom did so much with her life , she worked hard all her life and touched so many lives.

My Mom has and will be helping people that don't even know her.

She will continue to do so.

My Mom fought for years for people that have been exposed to asbestos ,as a result of which, eventually contract mesothelioma and pass.So many families will be helped. My Dad ,passed in Dec.1989.of mesothelioma and because of my Mom's lawsuit,against.General Dynamics Corp./Electric Boat Division , many people will be compensated, families will be helped nation wide.

Mom ,I love you and will miss you!
